Miranda Geoghegan, Owner and Coach

Miranda has been involved in Olympic weightlifting since 2017, when she realized her favorite part of CrossFit was anything with the barbell. She started at the historical Sayre Park Weightlifting Club in Chicago, IL, and joined Greenville Weightlifting when she moved down to South Carolina in 2019.

In 2023, she began as the head coach and assistant manager at Greenville Weightlifting. In late October of 2023, she and Taryn purchased the business and decided to give it a fresh start!

Her goal as a coach is to make strength training approachable to every person. She especially loves working with new lifters or CrossFitters looking for something more and getting them hooked on Olympic Weightlifting! Miranda holds a USAW Level 1 certification, and is currently working towards obtaining her MamasteFit Prenatal & Postnatal Fitness Trainer certification.

When Miranda isn’t working or coaching, she enjoys backpacking and camping with her husband, Dan, and their assortment of cuddly cats and one dog.

Taryn Gibson, Owner and Coach

Taryn became interested in Olympic weightlifting after her daughter began lifting here at Greenville Weightlifting. She was previously involved with CrossFit, but realized that Olympic lifting was her favorite part of it!

In late 2022, she became the general manager of Greenville Weightlifting, and got her USAW L1 certification. In October 2023, she and Miranda became the owners of Greenville Weightlifting, and they are looking forward to creating a welcoming environment for both new and experienced lifters. Taryn completed her USAW Level 2 coaching certification in January 2025.

In her time away from the gym, Taryn is a board certified lactation consultant and owns Clever Baby Holistic Feeding and Parenting Support in Spartanburg and Greenville, SC. She also is the director of Day Before the Rainbow Rescue and Adoption—and will always ask you to foster a puppy!

Taryn enjoys working on her Jeeps and taking them offroading when she has a bit of free time.

Harrison Frye, Coach

Harrison became interested in Olympic weightlifting after college. Harrison played Division 1 golf at both Coastal Carolina University and Wofford College. He found that after college, he needed a different sport on which to focus. He enjoyed the weightlifting he had done under his strength and conditioning coaches in college, so he decided to try Olympic lifting. Harrison says that his main focus is the technical side of weightlifting. Harrison has competed in USAW U25 nationals and various other local competitions.

When Harrison is not at work or the gym, he enjoys working on his truck—a ‘97 F250.
